A Busy Spring and other Projects

It's been so long since the school year wrapped up, we're about to start another one! But here's a look at our spring and summertime activities:

Laszlo loved playing soccer in the fall, so we signed up to join a team this spring as well. He had a good season, his brothers were only marginally jealous of the snacks he got at the end of the game, and I coached most of the season! I'm not a good coach, but they're six years old. They didn't notice.

Paul got to make a rocket and walk with his class to the park to launch them. Here's a summary of what you can't hear in this video:

Teacher: You press this button when it's time to launch
Paul: you mean like this? *presses button*
Teacher: Yep. Just like that.

We finished our basement playroom this spring, so the kids have had their own space for friends, video games, and toys, toys, toys!

The kids having their own space means that our living room has become a much cleaner, more grown up oriented room. It is officially my favorite room in the house.

Laszlo graduated from Kindergarten, which included some pomp and circumstance. He had a great teacher and is really excited to be doing French Immersion in first grade.

TThe day after kindergarten graduation was field day. I volunteered to help out with supervising Paul and Laszlo's classes.

The school year ending is always a milestone, but for Laszlo he also finished off the last week of school by riding his bike without training wheels.

We did a fun a cycling activity in Farmington, once we arrived on our bikes, there were tacos, a climbing wall, and a general celebratory mood. Hopefully next year we can do it again and bike the entire way from home instead of just the shorter "family ride."

Lee and I celebrated our 12th anniversary this year. Lee planned a fun weekend away for the two of us. We went to Midway, Utah, and visited this unique hot spring. It's inside a rocky little hill and is quite deep. Deep enough that people actually go diving there. We opted to just swim.

Midway has a real Alpine feel to it, including a very nice Swiss style clock tower at Town Hall.

We did some hiking in the National Forest and played some Frisbee Golf on a very confusing, tree covered course. The highlight, besides the hot spring of course, was trying all the local restaurants and snacks.

And summer break officially begins!
