A little bit of Fall

Wrapping up summer vacation, we visited Thanksgiving Point a couple times. Arthur and Laszlo liked the bug museum quite a bit, Paul was like warm on it.

They all went nuts for the big children's museum though!

The first day of school delivered these austere portraits:

You'd think they were going to a funeral with gose faces! Arthur had a hard time at first with his older brothers starting 1st and 4th grade. We went to the zoo quite a few times during the day so he wouldn't feel so lonely at home.

We went with Grandma Jamie, Pa Duane, and our Johnson cousins to the Polynesian cultural festival over Labor Day. It was a very tasty fun time! The kids pretty exclusively were interested in the bouncy houses, ziplines, and slides.

Also at Thanksgiving Point, the Dinosaur Museum! Arthur and Laszlo, again, quite enthusiastic. Paul somewhat less so.

I spent the later half of the summer in rehearsals for our autumn musical production of Jekyll and Hyde. Being fake murdered 3-4 times a week was the highlight for me for sure.

Well, the murder and the puzzles. If you die at the top of act 2, you end up with a lot of down time. So we managed to complete 20+ puzzles over the course of the month.

We've been working on potty training Arthur. Lots of work and we're finally seeing some progress! I don't feel we're quite there yet, but maybe by the end of the year!

Our favorite trunk or treat in the our area is, weirdly enough, at a car dealership. They decorate the trunks of the cars in the show room and hand out candy, have a bounce house, and serve up hot dogs, chips, and soda.

Laszlo played soccer again this fall and he was a real speed demon! He could outpace just about everyone in his league.

We did some fun Halloween activities, like trick or treating at the zoo. It's was pretty crowded, and fairly chilly, but the kids had a good time and collected a lot of candy.

The school did a Halloween costume parade on the morning of Halloween. Arthur got a lot of attention for being so cute. He was waving at kids as they passed saying "happy Halloween!"

Pictured here: Tigger, Hot Rod, a Skeleton, Ash Ketchum, and a new test subject for the Satellite of Love. The kids went trick-or-treating and got entirely too much candy.
